Silent Hill: Townfall will be released on September 24, and the developers of Screen Burn spoke in more detail about the version for PlayStation 5. The game remains a first-person horror game, but the DualSense is used here not only for standard vibration.

The controller becomes part of the interface

Adaptive triggers change resistance depending on the weapon, and haptic feedback conveys the heavy steps of creatures and impacts near the hero. The gyroscope can be used for aiming and to work with the CRTV - a handheld device through which the hero looks for signals and interacts with some puzzles.

All these features can be customized. The developers emphasize that the goal is not to force the player to use a gyroscope, but to make objects in the hero’s hands more physically tangible.

In first person, sound becomes even more important

Townfall limits your field of view and leaves threats off screen more often than not. Therefore, 3D sound should help to understand where the enemy is even before visual contact. In a horror game where resources are scarce, this directly influences the decision whether to engage in combat, hide, or avoid danger.
