PlayStation withdrew from the project

According to Hideo Kojima, in mid-June, PlayStation Studios informed the studio of its intention to stop working on Physint. After this, Kojima Productions spent about three months looking for a new partner.Sony confirmed that it had decided to withdraw from the partnership, but did not publicly disclose the reasons.

Kojima described the decision more harshly: according to him, the SIE notice stated the cancellation of the project.Sony in a public statement formulates this as an exit from cooperation. The company did not disclose the reasons.

Xbox has become a new partner of Kojima Productions

Xbox has confirmed that it will be working with Kojima Productions on Physint. This is already the second major joint project for the companies after OD.Xbox chief Asha Sharma called the deal an important moment for the company, and Kojima confirmed that development was ongoing.

What is known about the game itself?

Kojima still calls Physint a spy action game.Previously, he said that he wanted to bring the production closer to cinema and attract specialists from the film industry to the project, but the developers have not yet shown specific gameplay.

Xbox has not announced platforms or given a release date. Therefore, it is too early to draw conclusions about exclusivity and how much the change of publisher will affect the game itself.

Physint was not closed after Sony left

After Sony's release, the project did not disappear.Kojima Productions retained Physint and found a new publishing partner.Everything else - platforms, timing and scale of the game - remains unknown.

Now the first full-fledged show is expected from Kojima Productions. While he is gone, it is impossible to understand whether the game itself will change along with the change of publisher.
