The seventh part of the walkthrough of Onimusha: Way of the Sword combines two very action-packed chapters: "Stormchaser" and "By the Light of the Ice Moon."First, Musashi returns to Kennin-ji and fights Ifuu and Burai at once, then the game opens up a huge Arashiyama with a swamp, cannons, secret passages, new Oni Armament and two major bosses in a row.
This is the last truly exploratory part before the finale. If you are collecting materials, Gemm notes and rare upgrades, check the side branches carefully: some of the items in Arashiyama are easy to miss due to the long main route.
Spoilers: Chapters 20 and 21 are fully discussed below. The final chapters 22–23 are left for the eighth part.
Chapter 20. "Storm Chaser": Yasaka's training
Before returning to Kennin-ji, activate the new Oni Glyph at the southern entrance to Yasaka Shrine. He opens a chest containing dried hozuki. Then talk to Okuni and check the bags: at this point, she already has an option available related to Awakening Oni.
Replenish your healing and do not enter Kennin-ji with an empty Oni Armament meter. The chapter is short in route, but almost entirely built around combat.

Two Rifts in Kennin-ji: Wind and Lightning
Immediately after entering, the first Rift appears. The enemies are normal, but tornadoes pass through the arena.Don’t try to hold one point: constantly change your position, and shoot shooters and flying Gammas before heavy targets.
In the second half of the courtyard, another Rift opens. Here, instead of wind, lightning regularly strikes the site.Follow the warning on the ground and don't start the long Armament animation. They're right under the impact zone.
After the second wave and scene, the path leads through the Oni Gate to a new section of the Vault.Ahead is a round arena and a battle with two familiar opponents at once.
Boss: Ifuu and Burai - don't try to split the fight into two singles
Both brothers use familiar sets of attacks, but the main challenge now is synchronization. In the first phase, they can simultaneously retreat and prepare horizontal strikes. If you catch a normal parry rather than a Reflect, the bosses are able to hit each other. With broken stamina, this unlocks a double Break Issen.
Don't focus on one opponent.Health bars are technically separate, but transitions between phases depend on the total damage dealt. It is more convenient to distribute the pressure between both so that one does not remain almost full until the late stage.
Second phase: special attacks come almost simultaneously
After the transition, Ifuu uses a quick air dash more often, and Burai uses a lightning strike teleportation. The attacks converge in time, so you need to defend yourself from the general wave, and not try to look at each one separately. The camera is more important than unnecessary damage here: keep both in the frame and don't press yourself to the edge.
Third phase: disrupting joint ultimates
In one combo, Burai creates an electric shock and Ifuu hangs with a large backpack.Shoot the backpack with an Oni Bow: Ifuu falls on Burai, both take damage, and the dangerous attack is disrupted.
In another combination, the brothers ascend to a cloud while lightning strikes the arena. In the finale, watch out for the gust of wind - it warns of the final blow.An accurate parry will greatly reduce the stamina of both.Once one brother falls, the rest of the fight becomes noticeably calmer.
Chapter 21. “In the light of the icy moon”: before the trip to Arashiyama
After winning, return to the Oni Glyphs in Kennin-ji.They now open chests containing notes about Ifuu and Burai. If you complete the game almost 100%, pick them up before moving to a new area.
By this point, the main sword, clothing and Glove should already be very well upgraded.Arashiyama is long, so don’t save your accumulated materials “for later”: the finale is already close.
Arashiyama: The First Rift and the Hidden Road
Warp to the Adashino Nembutsuji Temple and move towards the marker. After the first scene, a Rift appears with Dohatsu-Ten.Close it, then destroy the northern fel plant.
In the square further on, the ordinary road seems to end.Turn on Oni Vision and look at the glowing stone monument. The passage is hidden right in the rock southwest of the statue - Musashi passes through the illusion.

The Oni Shortcut: Don't shoot both boxes at once
Behind the hidden passage, the Oni glyph is activated and a long walk across the platforms begins. The first hanging box needs to be shot through to open the path.On the second platform you will see another mechanism - do not touch it at first, but go northwest for the Oni Stone.
Only after the chest, move the first box again and then shoot the second one. This will create a bridge to the west.At the end of the route, activate another glyph and go to the Mirror of Spirits "Bamboo Trail".

Swamp: first take Still Water
Byakue walks in the central part of the swamp. It is better to remove it immediately so you can safely explore the northern sector. In the northeast there is a cave filled with corruption. At the very end lies Still Water — the last Oni Armament in the game.
Don't miss this chest. Then the most difficult bosses remain, and having a full set of Oni Armament allows you to select a response for a specific phase of the battle.
After the cave, destroy the fel plants as you ascend. On the central hill, another Rift will have to be closed.Discover shortcuts so you don't have to run through the entire swamp after every mistake.
Cannons: looking for explosives on the side of the gate
In the Arashiyama military unit, Musashi is being fired upon by cannons. The gates don't break directly. At the first gate, go around the eastern edge, go up the stairs and shoot at the explosives from the back side. After the explosion the path is open.
The second cannon has a more complicated scheme: go up the contaminated slope, use the wall and look for the corner where you can see the barrels next to the cannon.By blowing them up, you will destroy the structure and gain access to the nine-tiered pagoda.
Hojukyo Pagoda and Gorge
On the way up to the tower, two Rifts appear, but without unique bosses. After the summit scene, the game takes Musashi to Hojukyo Gorge.Activate the Mirror of Spirits by the river and do not rush in a straight line: there is a Power Stone and several materials in the village.
Further the path leads to the Togetsu-kyo Bridge. The spirit mirror is right in front of the arena, so be sure to recover. The third meeting with Sasaki Ganryu is ahead.
Boss: Sasaki Ganryu - third encounter

The first part is similar to the previous meeting.Keep your distance to provoke a thrust or jumping attack.Gio's tentacles can still be cut off with a normal parry initially, dealing additional stamina damage.
After the first stripe, the tentacles become stronger.Quick combos get longer, so don't respond with an attack immediately after one successful parry - Ganryu can continue the combination.
He later pulls out a fel-enhanced sword.Energy waves appear from hitting the ground - they can be reflected back - and a very fast unblockable attack. If the fight starts to fall apart, don't forget about the Oni transformation: by this point the game expects you to use the whole range of systems, not just the sword.
Road to Dokyo: Tamahagane before the final arena
After Ganryu, head northeast. On the infected streets, the Oni's agility will come in handy again: through rooftops and running along walls, you will bypass several barriers. There is a chest with tamahagane in the open area in front of Horin-ji Temple.
Activate the Spirit Mirror at the temple and prepare the Oni Bow.The next boss tries to keep Musashi at a distance almost all the time.
Boss: Dokyo - long ranged fight

It's almost useless for Dokyo to constantly try to break down his stamina. She moves around a lot and shoots around the arena. If Reflex Combo: Range is open, this is one of the best fights for the ability: a successful reaction to a ranged attack instantly closes the distance.
Masks are the main window for damage
When Dokyo rises into the air and a large mask begins to spin nearby, charge the Oni Bow and break it.After destroying the mask, quickly run up to the boss - this is one of the safest windows for a full series.Later there will be two masks, and both need to be destroyed.
The ring of flying Kubi Akari looks more dangerous than it is: run to Dokyo itself.Exploding opponents stop at the edge of the circle and are able to hit the hostess. In the second phase, a red variant with a grab appears among them - a later dodge sends it back into the boss.
Ultimate with falling stones
When boulders start falling from above, look for the one that remains intact.Hide behind him from Dokyo's final shot. After the attack, the fragment can be picked up by the Oni Force and thrown at the boss.Standing in the open almost always ends in massive damage.
After the victory, the final stage of the campaign begins. Before him, the game will still give you the opportunity to close the remaining side content.
What to do before the final part
- Pick up Still Water from the cave in the swamp.
- Raise the sword, clothes and Oni Glove to the maximum available level.
- Check the Kennin-ji glyphs with Ifuu and Burai's entries.
- Do not leave Power Stones and Oni Stones unused.
- Fill out the hozuki and set up your talismans for defensive play—the final boss punishes greedy streaks.
