The rumors about "Classic+" turned out to be close to the truth, although Blizzard chose a different name. World of Warcraft: Forever will be released on November 4, 2026 and will become the third official variant of WoW next to Modern and Classic.
The idea is simple: take Azeroth from the time of the original World of Warcraft and continue it as if this version of the game had its own development branch.Do not replay old additions in a circle, but add new territories, tasks and raids to the familiar world.

Three new zones and more than a thousand tasks
At launch, Blizzard promises three new zones, more than 1,000 new quests, nine dungeons and two raids. There will also be a new Skyborne race. All this is built into the world of the original WoW, and does not transport players to another separate continent from a modern addition.
The set appears to be much larger than the regular Classic Seasonal Update.Forever is intended to be a standalone long-term version of the game, so November 4th is more of a new branch than a one-off piece of content.

Why is it not just Classic?
Blizzard itself identifies Modern, Classic and Forever as three different experiences.Classic preserves and republishes older versions of World of Warcraft.Forever starts in the Vanilla era, but allows the developers to go where the original game didn't go.
This is why the unofficial word “Classic+” so well described the expectations of the community: familiar rules and geography, but new adventures. Now this idea has an official name.
Before Forever, Blizzard released a new Warcraft III campaign
The connection begins even before the MMO launches.New campaign Forsaken Kingdom for Warcraft III: Reforged tells about the formation of the Forsaken after the fall of Lordaeron and directly leads the story to the events of Forever.
This is a good sign for those who were wary of churning out content without an overall idea.Blizzard is not just adding zones to the old map, but creating a separate chronology and pre-connecting it with Warcraft III.

Beta starts September 17th
It will be possible to check the direction much earlier than the release: the World of Warcraft: Forever beta starts on September 17.The main launch is scheduled for November 4, 2026.
Access to Forever itself is included with your regular World of Warcraft subscription or paid play time.Separate digital sets are needed for additional bonuses and cosmetics.
