The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered will open on September 29 simultaneously worldwide at 10:00 UTC, that is, at 13:00 Moscow time.CD Projekt Red published the launch time on the official map on September 24.Owners of the game on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will receive the remaster for free as an update.

Who will get the remaster for free?

  • PC. Owners of the game on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store.
  • PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Owners of versions for current consoles.On Xbox, the remaster supports Xbox Play Anywhere.
  • Switch 2. Owners of The Witcher 3 on the original Switch can get the native Switch 2 version for free.
  • PS4 and Xbox One. The remaster will not be released on these consoles.

The additions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine became free on August 25th for all owners of the base game and are included in the remaster.Old saves are transferred.

There will be no preloading

On Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, PS5 and Xbox, the remaster comes as an update to an already installed game, so you won’t be able to download it in advance: the download will begin only at 13:00.You can pre-order only where The Witcher 3 has not been sold before: in the eShop for Switch 2 and on Battle.net, where the game comes through a partnership between CD Projekt Red and Blizzard.

How much space and what kind of PC do you need?

On a PC, the remaster will take about 70 GB, and only on SSD.The download for Switch 2 is about 43.5GB, according to the eShop page.The publisher did not separately name the size of the update for PS5 and Xbox.

Minimum requirements: Windows 11 64-bit, Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 12 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB, Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB or Intel Arc A580.

Recommended: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 16 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 2060 Super, Radeon RX 6600 XT or Intel Arc B580.

The bar has risen noticeably: the 2015 original was content with a GeForce GTX 660 and 6 GB of memory.It’s worth checking the system separately: the requirements indicate only Windows 11; CD Projekt Red has not confirmed working on Windows 10.
