Warcraft III unexpectedly received not just another set of visual changes, but a new official story campaign. Forsaken Kingdom is now available for Warcraft III: Reforged and became the game's first new campaign in more than 23 years.
It begins in the ruins of Lordaeron and tells how the Forsaken are freed from the Scourge, gain a foothold in the Undercity and take the first steps towards the state of the world that Blizzard will show in World of Warcraft: Forever.

This is a continuation, not a restored old mission
Forsaken Kingdom includes a prologue and three chapters. The story centers on the Forsaken and Sylvanas Windrunner, and events gradually lead from a destroyed kingdom to the emergence of a new power under Lordaeron.
Blizzard emphasizes that this is a new story. The campaign was not cut from the original Warcraft III and is not a restored prototype. It is written as a bridge between the classic strategy and the new branch of Warcraft.

The connection to WoW: Forever is direct here
Forsaken Kingdom doesn't end inside Reforged.Blizzard explicitly says that World of Warcraft: Forever will continue shortly after the campaign finale.
This makes the addition more interesting than the usual gift for fans of the old RTS.The company is actually using Warcraft III as the first chapter of the alternative development of Azeroth, and then transferring this line into the MMO.

Reforged received a major update at the same time
Along with the campaign, Blizzard released a major update for Warcraft III: Reforged with graphical and technical improvements and improvements to the world editor.Forsaken Kingdom itself must be purchased separately;Requires Warcraft III: Reforged to run.
The campaign also introduces a new neutral hero - Forsaken Paladin. The fact that a new chapter is coming two decades after the original is more important than its size: Warcraft III is once again a place where Blizzard tells a new story.
