At RDC 2026, developers were shown something that previously did not fit well with the very logic of the platform: a project from Roblox Studio can be released as a separate application for PC, consoles and mobile devices.
That is, the finished game can live on its own.Without mandatory launch through the usual client.

Studio is no longer tied to one launch method
Reuters on September 11 described plans after RDC 2026: the author assembles the project in Studio, and then distributes it as a standalone application. For the developer, this changes one simple thing. The user can be brought into the game directly, and not just through the platform directory.
Separately, we are preparing to launch it in the browser.First the company is talking about Chrome, then they want to expand the list of browsers.Offline modes were also mentioned, but there are almost no specifics there yet.
Now they want to turn Studio into a more independent development tool: the game can be compiled there and released separately from the platform.

Build is needed to quickly get the first working version
In the summer the company showed Build. On your phone, you can describe your idea in text, get a simple framework, and then continue working in Studio later.
Next comes Scene Generator. Its task is more interesting: to assemble an editable 3D scene using text and images.Objects remain objects and can be moved, changed, and deleted.
The roadmap includes automated testing and assistants for analyzing the project. Here the AI looks more like a grunt work accelerator.I assembled the stage, checked the mechanics, threw away half of it, and redid the rest.

Money is still in the fog
This is where the most interesting part of the announcement ends. The company has not yet disclosed app-specific fees, payment rules, moderation, updates, or how such releases will connect with existing audiences.
Therefore, it is premature to compare Studio with Unity or Unreal Engine.Export of a separate application has already been promised. There are no conditions under which a developer can use this yet.
