Psychological adventure Rain98 Now you can try it for free.Developer C#4R4CT3R released a demo version on Steam lasting about three hours. It begins with the beginning of the story and takes the player to the middle of the second chapter, allowing you to get to know the characters without reading other people's retellings of the plot.
Rain, Tokyo and unexpected time travel
The action takes place in Tokyo in 1998, where the main character ends up under mysterious circumstances. There he meets Reina Amehara, a girl who is skeptical of stories about the future and claims that she can put an end to the whole world. From the opening scenes, the story builds on the tension between ordinary conversations and a threat that has no obvious explanation.

The game combines dialogue with choice of lines, walks through city streets, small tasks, collectibles and mini-games.The creators pay great attention to animation, sound design and the characteristic low-poly aesthetics of the late nineties.
Why you should start with a demo version
Early demo builds of Rain98 have already been shown at exhibitions, but the story did not begin there from the very beginning. The trial version now includes a full introduction to the characters. This is important for a story-based game: the impression of the characters will be different if you first see their ordinary life, and only then see the consequences of strange events.

The developers estimate the full story at approximately 10–15 hours and seven chapters. The demo version does not cover the entire plot and does not reveal its final mysteries.Support for nine languages is announced, including English and Japanese; The presence of Russian should be checked in a specific Steam card.
Who voices the characters
Reina is played by Rio Tsuchiya.Mamiko Noto, known to anime fans for her various notable roles, also joined the project. She will voice the mysterious Kyoko Yose. The authors offer to listen to a fragment of her performance in the new trailer, but the character’s role in the overall story has not yet been revealed.

When will the full game be released?
Developers continue to focus on 2026 for PC and unnamed consoles. There is no exact day.The demo version is already available on Steam, so you can judge for yourself the pace of dialogue and the atmosphere of the rainy city. But it’s too early to judge the ending and all seven chapters based on the first three hours.
