Moon Studios cooks for No Rest for the Wicked not just another pack of enemies and equipment. At the Wicked Inside presentation, the developers talked about reworking the character system: instead of a rigid distribution of characteristics, the player will be able to change their combat specialization by simply changing weapons.Version 1.0 is promised for release 24 classes and 362 talents.
The class changes with the weapon
In the current system, a character develops basic parameters that push him towards a certain style. In 1.0 the authors want to relax this limitation. The choice of weapon will influence the class, and abilities from different directions can be combined to create your own build.

The developers' examples include electric spears that fall on enemies like arrows, sneak attacks that allow you to eliminate the enemy before the start of a regular battle, and combinations of talents that change the hero's usual actions. These examples do not mean that all hundreds of effects can be equipped at the same time: the system will limit the number of available slots.
Six factions and new island stories
Six factions will appear on Isola Sacra.Among those named are the Severed Hand assassins, the Sacrament Guard knights and the mysterious group Unspoken.Joining a faction will open a separate chain of quests, merchants and new development features. This should make replaying more interesting than just changing starting weapons.

It is not yet clear whether it will be possible to freely move between all associations in one save and whether there are mutually exclusive solutions.Moon Studios has not revealed the full reward table, so it is premature to attribute a specific item to any faction.
Cerim Cores: stronger, but more vulnerable
A separate Cerim Cores system determines how a character experiences damage and spends resources.Options include increasing health, stamina, and focus.Rarer effects speed up attacks or grant lifesteal. But exceeding the permissible core capacity will cause the hero to receive more damage from all hits.

This is a risky mechanic: you can build a character with very high damage that does not tolerate mistakes well. For players accustomed to careful battles, this design can change the approach to equipment more noticeably than new numbers in the characteristics.
The update will double the size of the game
Moon Studios says the 1.0 release will roughly double the scope of No Rest for the Wicked.Additional territories, new enemy factions, bosses, changes to the loot system and quality of control are promised. The developers are working separately on stability on PS5.
The PC version has been in early access since April 2024.Full launch and release on PS5 are planned for March 2027.Xbox Series and Switch 2 will receive the game at a later date. The studio has not yet announced the exact March day, so transferring it to the calendar with a specific date would be a mistake.
