Marvel's Wolverine is out now on PlayStation 5, and Insomniac explained why they did not transfer the ready-made Spider-Man formula to Logan.According to creative director Marcus Smith, the differences between the characters drove almost every decision, from level structure to punch animations.
Spider-Man is associated with open New York and free movement over the city.Wolverine was made closer to the ground: the spaces are tighter, contact with the environment is more constant, and the hero himself feels heavier.

"Logan is a tank"
Senior art director Grant Hollis describes the approach very simply: Logan needs to break more things, move rougher, and leave a noticeable mark behind him.Blood, destruction and damage to the environment are not a decorative effect, but part of the character’s image.
In animation, the team deliberately avoided pure superhero movements.Wolverine knows how to fight, but his style should look like the work of a man who is willing to take a hit and still continue to attack.
Team X and the reason for the rage
In history, Logan is associated with Team X, which protects mutants. When he sees that they are being experimented on and treated as expendable, the rage is given a specific reason, rather than being triggered by the player's command.
Logan was played by Liam McIntyre. The writers emphasize the contrast between his animal aggression and his ability to be a calm, caring person.

The costume was also made more down to earth
The team looked at the classic tan and yellow and blue options, but added tactical details. The goal was to make the suit look like something that could be made in the real world—closer to military gear or motorcyclist protection.
As a result, Wolverine really isn't like Spider-Man with a different set of attacks.Insomniac retained the experience of staging a superhero action game, but adjusted the pace, space and animation for a hero who solves problems a few centimeters from the enemy.
