Studio Strange Scaffold presented Gods With Badges — a story-driven turn-based tactics game about police work in a dystopian city. The game has an unusual mechanic: the main character can temporarily turn off the chest camera, gaining additional options for action, but leaving the event without video recording.

Patrols in Skarhelm may end in turn-based combat
The main character is policewoman Harrow McClellan, who was returned to her former place of duty after a scandal. In the fictional Skarhelm, she will investigate complaints, search for evidence, seize contraband and communicate with residents.By developer description on Steam, decisions in conversations and during arrests affect relationships with colleagues, society and the system of which the heroine remains a part.
When conflict turns violent, the game switches to isometric turn-based combat.Hiding, rescuing hostages, and a choice between force and an attempt to detain are announced. This is a description of the mechanics from the announcement, and not impressions of the completed version.

A disabled camera will unlock other lines and techniques.
The chest camera in Gods With Badges is intended to be part of the game's choices. While the recording is ongoing, the police officer’s actions are recorded;disabling the device opens up additional tactical and dialogue options. The downside is that there is no public record of what happened next.
The developers associate this system with the theme of power and responsibility. But how much it will change the plot consequences will become clear after a more detailed demonstration: so far the mechanics themselves and the stated connection with the player’s choice have been confirmed.
Canceled Hard Justice became the basis of a new game
The project grew out of Hard Justice, which Artificer previously worked on.After the cancellation of the original development, Strange Scaffold took its developments and rethought them as part of the Project Share initiative. The studio spoke about this in official announcement published by Gematsu.
Chris Kirk, who worked on Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator, is responsible for the music.Among the stated features are also customization of police equipment and a campaign with individual stories.

The game is expected on PC in 2027, but there is no exact date
Gods With Badges has been announced for PC.Featured in press materials 2027, whereas Steam page has not announced a specific date yet.Console versions have not been confirmed.
Watch the premiere trailer can be found on The Triple-i Initiative channel: the link leads to the existing official video. The developers showed the idea of the game, but did not announce the start date for sales.
