After a short announcement of Diablo V, Blizzard has finally revealed how the game itself will work. The main character will receive the title Heir to Westmarch, and will travel through the fallen Sanctuary along with a growing caravan of survivors.
But most of the specifics appeared around classes and subjects.Three hero variants have already been confirmed: Demon Hunter, Monk and the all-new Plague Knight.

Plague Knight infects enemies and then uses the disease as a resource
Demon Hunter again relies on two crossbows, mobility and attacks from the shadows.Monk returns to melee and holy abilities.Next to them is Plague Knight, and so far it looks like the most interesting part of the list.
This class spreads disease and infection across the battlefield, then consumes it for its own power. There is no detailed skill tree yet, so it’s too early to talk about specific builds.Blizzard explicitly warns that the systems shown are in their early stages.
Loot looks towards Diablo II again
Developers want items to be easier to read and better remembered. The familiar logic of size returns to the inventory: a larger item takes up more cells.Gear sets are back, and the rune and runewords system is inspired by Diablo II.
This is not a promise to literally bring back the old mechanics one-to-one.Rather, the studio is trying to restore the feeling when a found item is interesting in itself, and not just because of the damage number in the tooltip.

The release is far away, but they decided to show the development earlier
Diablo V is due out in spring 2029.Until this point, classes, balance, and even individual systems may still change significantly.
Blizzard says the early screening is also for the sake of feedback.Starting in 2027, the studio plans to share news more regularly. For now, the most important thing is already clear: the new part will not be limited to the gloomy premise from the first trailer. She begins to develop her own play structure.
