Netflix and Blizzard are making an animated Diablo series

Diablo will expand beyond gaming in yet another format. Blizzard and Netflix are developing an animated series in the Diablo universe.The project was confirmed at the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2026.

This is just an early announcement for now.Blizzard did not name the premiere date, the animation studio, the cast, or the period of history in which the events will unfold.

Diablo will be the first, but not necessarily the last

Blizzard describes the series as the beginning of a broader effort with stories outside of games.The company says that other projects based on its universes are also in development, but does not yet provide specific names.

Therefore, it is too early to conclude that Overwatch or Warcraft will definitely be next.At the moment, only Diablo is confirmed.

The announcement coincided with the return of the series itself

On the same day, Blizzard introduced Diablo V, which is due out in the spring of 2029.At the same time, the Netflix project has not been announced as a film adaptation of the fifth part and is not yet officially connected with it.

Blizzard promises additional details later.Before them, the series is better perceived as a confirmed project without reference to a specific game, characters or date.
