Beast of Reincarnation came out in early August and immediately builds a walkthrough around a couple of heroes.Emma fights in close combat, and the huge white dog Koo helps explore the infected Japan and takes part in the battles.
Koo is not a decorative companion here.He marks points of interest, camps, hidden items and food, and gains his own set of abilities in battle.

Parries charge Koo's abilities
Emma has normal attacks, dodges, and Blade Arts. But the key connection comes through parrying: a successful defense fills the gauge needed for Koo's Bloom Arts.
When choosing Koo's ability, the game slows down a lot. Therefore, the combat constantly switches between Emma's quick attacks and short tactical pauses when you need to decide which companion move to use.
Emma's hair works in both combat and exploration
An unusual mechanic for the heroine is her vine-like hair. They can be used to plan, create temporary platforms, and reach places that appear inaccessible from the ground.
In a fight, the same tool allows you to sharply move upward, escape from encirclement, or attack the enemy from above. Therefore, verticality is needed here not only for searching for hiding places.

Stealth is useful already in the first locations
Early opponents punish missed hits painfully.Emma can move slower, crouch down and take down some enemies before an open fight begins.
Koo can also be sent forward. He is able to be the first to engage an opponent in combat while Emma deals with another target. In large groups, this approach is noticeably safer than trying to gather all the enemies around you.
Beast of Reincarnation is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and is also included in Game Pass Ultimate.
