Owlcat Games has revealed more details about investigations in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. Each case is built around evidence, testimony and conclusions, but the game does not automatically force you to choose the most likely culprit.
The Acolyte searches for physical evidence, interrogates witnesses and suspects, uses servo-ossarium, and gradually piece together leads about what happened.Companions add their own knowledge: medicine, survival, or xenos knowledge help to read the same scene differently.

After collecting data, the player himself chooses the accused.According to the developers, you can punish the most likely culprit or the person whose elimination is more beneficial than the overall goal. The consequences of such a decision remain part of history.
