Valve has improved the Steam Frame without a new battery and without reducing the stated characteristics. In SteamOS 0.4.3 Beta, the company has reworked the device's power consumption and reports an increase in battery life of up to 12% - both when streaming and when running games locally.

12% is the maximum, not a guarantee

Valve specifically warns that results may vary depending on frame rate and specific content. That is, the update does not add a fixed 12% to each scenario, but shows that the current hardware still has some room for software optimization.

What else has changed

Accessibility settings now allow you to track only your dominant eye.Valve has also fixed the loading of controller layouts in certain games and improved the behavior of the interface when resizing windows.

Additional reliability fixes have been added for VR streaming, including work on Error 17. Some of these fixes require SteamVR 2.18.2 or later on PC.Also fixed connection issues with the Steam Frame Wireless Adapter in some countries.

Version 0.4.3 is still a Beta channel. Therefore, something else is more interesting than the 12% figure itself: Valve continues to noticeably change the behavior of the device after the start of sales, and the autonomy here is improved by software.
