SEGA showed plans for the second year of support Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.It will begin November 3, 2026, and these are not only new crossovers: players can expect a one-on-one duel mode, an expansion of the gadget system, free racers and six paid packs based on famous franchises.

Free: Duels, Gadgets and Bayonetta
The main gaming novelty is Duel Mode.Instead of racing in a large group, two people compete here.Victory depends not only on speed: a new Duel Boost scale accumulates during the race and with the active use of items, and the enemy sees some information about your tactics.There will be offline races with AI, random online opponents and matches with friends;For competitive seasons, the Best-of-10 mode has been announced.
The machine customization system will also expand.Plate Grand Master Plate will add a seventh slot for a small gadget with an enhanced effect;15 more new gadgets will appear at the start of the second year.
Game character Bayonetta will be available for free starting November 3, but you will need to win Rival Duel to open it.A McLaren racing car will appear a little later in November, and in early 2027 Aigis from Persona 3 with your car.The free festivals with awards will last ten days.
Paid: Godzilla, Evangelion and other worlds
The second season pass includes six DLC packs.First, Godzilla Pack, out November 3rd, features a Godzilla Escape track and three themed cars.Starts in January 2027 EVANGELION Pack with Rei and Asuka, the Tokyo-III track and EVA-inspired cars.

Later planned are Sanrio/Hello Kitty and Kuromi (second quarter of 2027), SEGALAND with the legacy of OutRun and After Burner (third quarter), set Midgar by Final Fantasy VII Remake (third quarter) and Reload Revival Royal by Persona (fourth quarter).For some packages, the names are still working, but the contents may be clarified.
What's with the price and old game?
In the US, the standard edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds now costs $39.99 instead of $69.99;Digital Deluxe dropped from $89.99 to $59.99.Prices may vary in other regions.Second Season Pass sold separately for $29,99.If you already own the game, don't buy the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition just to get the pass; it's a replay of the base game.
Players who purchase both season passes will additionally unlock the Super Shadow and a special vehicle.The Year Two set itself is already on sale in official Steam store — on the page you can check the current configuration by year.
Why is this important now
The news complements a closer announcement: Aang and Katara from Avatar Legends will appear in the game on October 14.At the same time paid crossovers and free game modes are different parts of the plan.You don't need to buy Season Pass Two just for the Duel Races or Bayonetta.
