Sony announced games for the October PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalog.The selection includes several big names: a criminal adventure Mafia: The Old Country, open world Horizon Forbidden West and co-op shooter Mycopunk.Some classic games have been prepared for Premium, including Dino Crisis 2. The main replenishment is scheduled for October 20, but some releases have different regional schedules.
Mafia: The Old Country and Horizon Forbidden West - two great adventures
Mafia: The Old Country takes place in Sicily at the beginning of the 20th century.The story centers on Enzo Favara, who is trying to rise up in a crime family.The game was built around a story campaign, shooting and close combat, so it is noticeably different from open worlds, where you can be distracted by dozens of side activities.The subscription will include the PS5 version.
Horizon Forbidden West is already familiar to PS4 and PS5 owners.Aloy travels across the western lands, fighting against huge machines and trying to understand a new crisis.Sony refers to its return as a re-appearance in the catalogue.This is a useful detail for those who remember the previous availability period: this is not a new release of Horizon.
Mycopunk will appear in the catalog on release day
Four players assemble teams of combat robots and fight aggressive mushroom creatures.Mycopunk focuses on co-op missions, loot, and hundreds of weapon upgrades.The shooter is coming to PS5 October 20th directly on PS Plus.The developers thus get the opportunity to introduce the game to those who usually do not buy a new cooperative project without feedback from friends.
In addition, Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2, The Midnight Walk, Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition and Monster Energy Supercross 25 are announced in Extra. Individual games have footnotes by country and time frame: for example, Poppy Playtime and Tales of Arise for the US, UK and Japan are listed for October 27.You should not assume that each item will appear in all regions at the same time.
Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 - for Premium
Home Classic Game of the Month - Dino Crisis 2, the continuation of Regina's adventures with time travel and battles with dinosaurs.Unlike the first part, the dynamics here are more pronounced and you have to fight off groups of opponents more often.The second Premium retro release is RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition, where the player controls an amusement park.
Premium subscribers will also be offered trials of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell II starting October 20.This is not a full-fledged addition of both games to the general catalog: tests are limited by the rules of the service.
How to check if games are available in your region
Sony explicitly warns that the composition of Extra and Premium/Deluxe varies by region.Therefore, it is better to open the PlayStation Store on your console on October 20 and check the card for the desired game.At the same time, pay attention to the subscription period: if access is terminated, games from the catalog will not remain on your account as separate purchases.
