Developer People Playground has temporarily disabled support for mods and Steam Workshop after a second malicious mod attack in 2026.Studio Minus calls the new case particularly serious and asks players who launched the game during the dangerous period of September 21 to check their computers.

Who needs to check the system

According to the developer, the increased risk concerns users who had mods installed and launched People Playground on September 21st from approximately 18:00 to 20:00 CEST.They are advised to perform an anti-virus scan, delete the contents of the mods folder and not run the old build with mods.

Mods won't run in new build

Studio Minus has released an update that blocks mods from executing.Workshop is also disabled.The developer does not promise to quickly return the system: support will only appear if the mods can be made fundamentally safe, and the team explicitly admits that this may not happen.

According to preliminary analysis by the community, the malicious code could use the Steam account of an infected user for further distribution, affecting local files and data of other games.The developer emphasizes that the full scope of the program's actions is still under investigation.
