Dieselship Studio showed off a fresh snippet of Olympus 2249 ahead of the game's Steam Early Access release on October 6th.The Russian team is making an isometric cRPG in a post-nuclear dieselpunk world and deliberately abandons the usual route markers.
The new video diary is dedicated to quests and navigation.Instead of a highlighted road, the player receives information from the characters, and important details of conversations are saved in the organizer. The idea is simple: carefully read dialogue should be part of the passage, and not a pause between pointers.

Steam describes five karmic character types. The chosen position affects dialogues, tasks and available opportunities, and karma itself changes as you progress. The hero does not have to end the story with the same worldview with which he began.
The developers grew out of the Olympus 2207 global modification team for Fallout 2. The new game is no longer a mod or a port of the old project: it has its own engine, world and mechanics, although the love for classic isometric RPGs is immediately obvious.
Battles are turn-based.Positioning is combined with influence on the arena: you can push fuel barrels, set fire to spilled oil, use electricity and traps.Attacks allow you to select body parts, and abilities consume stamina.
However, the conflict does not always have to end in shooting.Steam separately promises options for solving problems without combat, branching dialogues and several endings.
Olympus 2249 will be available on Steam tomorrow. The card confirms the Russian interface and subtitles, single player mode, achievements, cloud saves and family access.Full Russian voice acting has not been announced.
At the time of verification, the Russian Steam page opens, but until the game is unlocked, the reliable ruble price is not displayed, so we will not invent it for foreign regions. For the Russian audience, this is one of the most interesting releases of the week precisely because of the origin of the team and the focus on the old school cRPG.
Early Access status means that a working but still developing version will be released on October 6th.Dieselship expects to collect feedback on battle balance, quests and interface. For a complex cRPG, this is an important caveat: the amount of content and individual mechanics may change as development progresses.
Therefore, the start should be perceived as the beginning of the public stage of development, and not as the final point of the project. For those who value a fully completed story, it is wiser to keep an eye on updates and release dates for version 1.0.
Other notable games of the coming days are collected in our calendar from October 5 to 9.
