Nintendo updated Game Boy Advance library for Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers.Available on the Nintendo Classics app starting October 14 Metal Slug Advance, Monster Rancher Advance and Kururin Paradise. These are not three variations of one arcade game, but an action movie, a simulator of growing monsters and an unusual puzzle.

The expansion is available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 through the classic games library. You don't need to purchase each of these three games separately to run the app, but you do need a subscription with the expansion pack.

Metal Slug Advance - arcade action game from a portable console

Metal Slug Advance continues the idea of a classic 2D shooter: the hero goes through levels with a huge number of opponents, changes weapons and dodges heavy fire.Unlike older installments in the series, the GBA version was originally designed for single-player handheld play.

If you're familiar with Metal Slug from the arcades, the return of Advance is a good opportunity to appreciate how the complex arcade formula worked with the limitations of the small screen. The game should be assessed as a historical release, without promises of a remaster or new content.

Monster Rancher Advance is not Pokémon

In Monster Rancher Advance you need to raise and train fantastic creatures, choose activities and prepare them for competitions.Victory depends not only on the battle, but also on how the player manages the time between training and rest.

Therefore, the similarities with Pokémon are superficial: there is less traveling for badges and more care for a specific ward. The game is especially interesting for those who did not catch the series on portable consoles.

Kururin Paradise - the main unusual addition

Kururin Paradise builds puzzles around a constantly rotating stick that must be carefully guided through tight corridors without hitting the walls.A simple rule turns into a test of reaction and route planning.

The original Kururin Paradise was released in Japan, so the game's appearance in a modern library is especially interesting for fans of forgotten Nintendo releases. This is not a continuation of the series for Switch - the collection includes the version from the Game Boy Advance era.

Where to look for games

Open the Game Boy Advance - Nintendo Classics app on Switch or Switch 2 and refresh the list.An active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription is required to access.Nintendo has not announced a time frame for the removal of these specific games.
