Electronic Arts has confirmed that NHL 27 uses AI voice processing for commentators John Buccigross and Darren Pang.
EA emphasizes that the technology is being used with the consent and participation of Buccigross and Pang.Prior to this, both commentators had conducted more than 50 regular recording sessions.
According to EA, synthesis allows you to quickly add new lines after the events of the actual season and correct the pronunciation of names.In the first update, the developers have already corrected a number of repeated phrases and errors in player names.
That is, EA does not replace commentators with generated voices without their knowledge: the AI is used as part of the work with Buccigross and Pang already participating in the project.
NHL 27 was released on September 11th on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
