SNK and Plaion have delayed the release of NeoGeo AES+ until September 16, 2027.The reason given is restrictions in the supply of components, due to which the manufacturer cannot release the device on the previously planned date.

Placed pre-orders are saved and given priority. The company also said the delay will not result in a price increase and customers won't need to do anything extra.
NeoGeo AES+ is intended to be a modern hardware version of the SNK home system, not a software emulator. The device supports original and new cartridges, low latency HDMI, legacy AV connections and hardware settings via DIP switches.
For retro hardware, a postponement of almost a year is serious, but in this case the manufacturer chose to maintain the declared design instead of quickly replacing components. The final result can be assessed only after the release of serial devices.
What is more important for the modern version of NeoGeo: fidelity to the original hardware or a lower price?
