Mojang presented The Sift is a new dimension to the Minecraft universe and the first such expansion of the main game in more than 14 years.Players will first get there in Minecraft Dungeons II, which comes out on September 29, and the dimension will be added to Minecraft Java and Bedrock in 2027.

The Sift differs from Overworld, Nether and End not only in appearance.According to the developers' description, it will have its own mobs, dangerous blocks and changing conditions. The so-called shifting tides are able to influence the hero and the creatures around him, so the rules of exploration will differ from the usual Minecraft biomes.
Zones Already Confirmed for Dungeons II Meadows and Carapace.Dimension entrances are connected to rifts that appear in the sequel's new interconnected world.Mojang is deliberately not showing all areas yet so that players can discover parts of The Sift on their own.

For the main Minecraft, the developers have not yet revealed the method of access to the new dimension and do not promise a complete coincidence of the mechanics with Dungeons II.It is only known that The Sift will become the fourth full-fledged dimension along with Overworld, Nether and End.
The last new dimension to main Minecraft was End, which appeared in 2011.So The Sift's announcement changes one of the most conservative parts of the game's structure, rather than simply adding another set of blocks or a separate biome.
Minecraft Dungeons II releases September 29 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The game is also included in Game Pass on Xbox and PC.Main Minecraft will receive The Sift in 2027;Mojang has not yet announced the exact date.
Will be released separately in October Minecraft version for Nintendo Switch 2.
