Unofficial multiplayer for The Last of Us Part II will not reach release. The Speclizer team stopped the project after a letter, which, according to the author, came on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The mod has been in development since January and was supposed to be released in September. It was partially funded by Patreon subscribers, and in the summer the authors already showed long fragments of gameplay.

New cards and own mechanics were in fashion
The developers have prepared perks, a limited version of the listening mode and individual maps. This wasn't just a quick online patch to an existing campaign.
Speclizer writes that it received a request not to release the work and decided to comply with it.Sony has not yet publicly commented on the situation, so we leave the wording of the publisher’s demand at the level of the statement of the author of the project.
The story is especially ironic given the background of the series itself
The Last of Us Part II was once planned to have multiplayer, but Naughty Dog has focused on single-player.Later, the studio made an independent online project based on the universe and eventually closed it too.
The fan version could at least be an unofficial replacement. Now she remains only in published videos.
