Gaming Factory studio came up with an unexpected spin-off from JDM: Japanese Drift Master. JDM: Ph4ntom Driver is not just another time trial, but an arcade driving action game where cars serve as the main weapon against demons from Japanese folklore. The streets of Guntama are now ruled by youkai and oni squads, and the hero uses drift and supernatural powers of destruction.
Instead of weapons - a hood, acceleration and good drift
The authors promise to abandon conventional shootings. To defeat the enemy, you need to accelerate correctly, enter the turn, hit the enemy's car and continue the combination.Power points are awarded for chains of collisions Hakai, and nitro helps maintain the pace.
In the gaming world, cars are changed not only for speed.Dark magic and unusual bodywork transform familiar Japanese cars into monster-fighting vehicles. As you progress, you will be able to find new parts and improve the combat capabilities of the vehicle.

Familiar roads, but a different world
Ph4ntom Driver uses the JDM: Japanese Drift Master universe, however the map will be redesigned. An alternate version of the fictional Japanese prefecture of Guntama is overrun by demons. The player will have to explore the open world, destroy enemy units and gradually get closer to Shoten Doji - the main demon.
The plot is promised to be told through manga episodes.Familiar characters will appear, but in different roles. This is a separate standalone game, so to understand the story they did not promise to necessarily complete the original JDM.

How does the new game differ from regular arcade racing games?
Judging by the description, the race and battle take place simultaneously. In a classic car simulator, the player tries to maintain an ideal trajectory, but here collisions become the main goal. The developers will have to show whether the demons and machine techniques are varied enough for a long campaign, and not just a spectacular trailer.
Network modes are planned for release. At the same time, the creators did not specify the exact format of the multiplayer: a cooperative campaign and competitive racing are different things, so it is premature to promise any of these options.
When will it be released?
Only confirmed so far PC via Steam.Release date, price, Russian localization and console versions have not been announced. From the first illustrations it is clear that the project relies on aggressive science fiction with neon streets, and not on the usual drift competitions.
