Hearthstone is getting a monk, its first new class in six years

Blizzard will add a new class to Hearthstone - monk.It will arrive in March 2027 and will be the first new playable class in six years.Therefore, it is better to immediately discard early retellings about “four years”: in the official announcement, Blizzard indicates exactly six.

Reign of the Black Empire will be released before the monk

The next major addition is called Reign of the Black Empire and will be released on October 20.It will return Hearthstone to the era of the Ancient Gods and add the Assemble mechanic: two cards can be combined into one more powerful one.

On September 22, Battlegrounds will receive a new type of creature - Aberrations.Blizzard is also redesigning the Journal to bring together quests, achievements, events, and the history of current expansions in one place.

Monk is the next stage

Blizzard has not yet revealed the detailed starting collection of the class, but the announcement itself is important for the structure of the game.After years of expanding existing classes, Hearthstone will see another full set of mechanics, cards, and archetypes arrive in 2027.

The company promises more details about the monk closer to the March launch.For now, the main upcoming release remains Reign of the Black Empire in October.
