Orbifold Studios has released a major update for Half-Life 2 RTX.The main new features relate to NVIDIA technologies: the game received improved frame generation, support for Windows on ARM and several new rendering settings.
New technologies in the update
An optional 3D-Guided Neural Rendering (DLSS) mode is now available and is disabled by default.Added "DLSS Frame Generation Preset C", improved frame generation for GeForce RTX 40 and RTX 50 graphics cards, as well as RTX Spark laptops.GeForce RTX 50 owners can enable x5 and x6 frame generation.
There is also a rendering option called “Sparse Rendering”.It reduces the number of lighting samples it calculates, and the image is then reconstructed by DLSS Ray Reconstruction. The developers also eliminated several graphical artifacts and reminded that the RTX Remix settings in the game are opened with the Alt and X key combination.
Player reviews
On Steam, the project has “mixed” reviews: 56% positive after nine thousand reviews. Many players complain about optimization and crashes.Update details taken from iXBT Games.
