Xbox has revealed the first wave of Game Pass for September.Over the next two weeks, the subscription will receive seven games: from the high-speed platformer SpeedRunners 2 to the survival game RuneScape: Dragonwilds. At the same time, Microsoft warned about ten projects that will leave the catalog on September 15.
The selection does not try to amaze with one big premiere.Instead, it covers several genres at once: speed racing, card strategy, fighting game, survival and store simulator. The main question of the month is what to do before removal.

What comes out at the beginning of the month
On September 3, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed will be available for subscription for the cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC.The sequel retains the idea of competitive racing, where players use boosters, grappling hooks and traps to push opponents off the screen. The game is available on release day to Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
On September 4, they will add Dice a Million, a roguelike game about assembling combinations of dice.On September 8, the catalog will be replenished with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.This is a familiar major release with a story campaign, multiplayer and Zombies mode, so it will be the most notable name of the first half of the month.

Mid-September - strategy, fighting and survival
Two different games will be released on September 10th.The Royal Writ combines card strategy and battles on the field, where it is important to place your squad correctly.Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.World Stage offers an updated version of the classic fighting game with cross-play and rollback netcode.
On September 15, subscribers will receive RuneScape: Dragonwilds and the full version of TCG Card Shop Simulator. The first transfers the familiar world of RuneScape into cooperative survival, the second suggests developing a trading card store: purchasing goods, setting prices and gradually expanding the premises.

What's leaving Game Pass on September 15th?
The list of outgoing games turned out to be longer than the list of new products.Commandos: Origins, Cricket 24, Cyberpunk 2077, Dead Cells, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, Frostpunk 2 on PC, Mullet MadJack, Spiritfarer, Superliminal and Train Sim World 5 will be removed from the subscription.
It's realistic to finish Spiritfarer or Superliminal in two weeks.Dead Cells and Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor are designed for multiple runs, making them easier to try and decide whether to buy with the subscriber discount.Cyberpunk 2077 requires significantly more time: starting a large playthrough for the sake of a deadline only makes sense if you are ready to play every evening.

Where to start
If you want to try a new product on release day, the first candidate would be SpeedRunners 2. For a large single-player game, it is better to choose Black Ops Cold War, and fans of system development should wait for the TCG Card Shop Simulator.
But it is more practical to check the list of deletions first.Spiritfarer and Superliminal can be completed until September 15 without a race, and the remaining projects can at least be launched before a possible purchase. The first wave of the month looks modest, but it offers more genres than the usual selection of a couple of high-profile releases.
