Extended gameplay shown at Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT - a live-action adaptation of the popular manga and anime Gachiakuta. The project is described as a survival action RPG with a strong emphasis on melee combat.
The visual style tries to maintain the anime character
The developers use cartoonish rendering with dense contours and bright effects. This is especially noticeable in combat: strikes are read through large animations, flashes and image deformation, and the environments retain the deliberately dirty aesthetic of the original world.
The new video pays more attention to the gameplay, and not to the staged scenes. The hero quickly closes the distance, combines a series of blows and uses weapons against large opponents.
The basis of the world is the conflict between the garbage city and the Abyss
Gachiakuta is built around a world where people and waste are dumped into a vast Abyss. Therefore, it is better to take the Russian versions of the terms as explanations until the publisher confirms the official localization: the names of factions and abilities may differ in the release.
The game uses familiar characters and motifs from the original story, but the new gameplay shows that the authors are not trying to turn the adaptation into a simple interactive retelling.
The release date has not yet been announced
GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is announced for Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Cloud. The developers have not yet disclosed the exact release date and full list of platforms.
Extended video included in Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 along with other Asian projects. For GACHIAKUTA, this was a gameplay show, and not a repeat of the old announcement trailer.
