Square Enix has announced the release date for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final installment in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy.The game will go on sale on April 8, 2027.
The project is announced for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and Epic Games Store.The developer and publisher is Square Enix.
Highwind, chocobos and the new FITS system
In Revelation, players will be able to explore the world more freely using the Highwind airship.Chocobo Pico will return not only as a means of transportation, but also as a combat ally who gains new abilities as the group develops.
FITS will appear in the combat system - a set of specialized equipment that changes the character’s abilities and role.Square Enix listed four areas: Warrior, Knight, Black Mage and Summoner.
The developers will also add quick switching between heroes while exploring the world and a hook for moving through vertical sections of locations.In some tasks, the player will be able to choose a group member, and this choice will affect individual story scenes and game situations.
Queen's Blood is back
The card mini-game Queen's Blood from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will appear in the third part.This time, a separate storyline related to Red XIII is being prepared for her, and among the opponents there will be characters with new abilities that change the course of the party.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation will conclude the story begun in Final Fantasy VII Remake and continued in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.Square Enix calls the third part the finale of the remake project, so the main storylines of the trilogy should receive a resolution here.
Editions and additions
Several edition options have been announced for the game.The digital Premium Edition includes the base game, 24-hour early access, in-game items, and the Story Expansion Pass.
On the official Square Enix website it is specified that the Story Expansion Pass is designed for two story additions: one dedicated to Sephiroth, the second to Vincent and the Turks.Their release is scheduled for the period from winter 2027 to spring 2028.
