Final Fantasy VII Revelation will receive a physical edition, but you won't be able to install the game completely from the disc alone. To start, you will need to download additional data from the Internet.
Project director Naoki Hamaguchi explained that the team considered the option of fitting Revelation into a volume comparable to Rebirth, but doing so would require cutting down on data or the quality of certain elements.
The previous parts of the remake trilogy on the PlayStation were released on several discs and physically contained the bulk of the game. For Revelation, Square Enix has chosen one disc, and the rest of the data will have to be downloaded.
Without an Internet connection, a physical copy cannot be installed completely.Square Enix has not yet announced the required download size.
Release Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled for April 8, 2027.
