Final Fantasy VII Revelation may take about 200 GB.Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed the Tokyo Game Show 2026 target and explained why the physical versions will require an additional download. This continues the theme that we wrote about in the material “the disk will not save you from loading».

Two disks no longer save
According to Hamaguchi, the final volume is still being determined, but the team expects approximately 200 GB.The developers don't want to cut down the game for the sake of the medium: therefore, a physical release remains a way to get a boxed version, but not a completely stand-alone copy of the data.
For the finale of a trilogy, this is logical in scale: Revelation must collect a huge world, new combat systems and the final part of the story.Hamaguchi emphasizes that the team is consciously putting content above the limitations of Blu-ray.
Vincent and Sephiroth will get separate stories
Revelation has two story additions planned - about Vincent Valentine and Sephiroth. The director compares the approach to Episode Intermission: DLC should reveal the characters deeper, but not move the real ending of the game beyond the main campaign.
Whether these stories will take place before or during the events of Revelation, Square Enix has not yet said.
The piano will tell you more about Tifa
An unexpected detail concerns the piano mini-game.In Rebirth it was a separate entertainment, and in Revelation the system will be significantly expanded.Hamaguchi let it slip that through her the player will be able to find out additional information about Tifa Lockhart.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is set to release on April 8, 2027.The final part of the remake trilogy will be released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
