B Fallout 76 a new storyline for The Slasher, “The Killer,” has started. The story unfolds over several weeks and begins with an emergency broadcast about a series of murders committed by masked men.

Investigation leads to pre-war urban legend

The update pays tribute to the Pint-Sized Slasher, a pre-war image of the little killer familiar to Fallout fans.In the new story, his imitator appears, and players will have to figure out who is behind the wave of crimes.

Quests include fighting the Killer's fanatical followers, searching for clues, and even excavating unmarked graves. The plot is not revealed entirely in one day: Bethesda stretches the investigation into several stages.

Unique rewards are promised for the finals

Among the rewards are a separate set of power armor and a new Super Slasher weapon. You can get them by moving up the chain and getting to the culprit of what is happening.

This format fits well with the live-action model of Fallout 76: instead of one big quest, the studio creates a reason to return as new parts of the story appear.

The Xbox version is simultaneously preparing for a technical update

Bethesda is also testing a native version for Xbox Series X|S with a target of 60 FPS, 4K support on Series X and VRR.These changes are being tested separately and are not part of The Slasher.

The new line is available to all Fallout 76 owners without a separate purchase of the add-on.Individual stages open according to a schedule, so it will not be possible to complete the entire investigation on the first day.

The Slasher was also shown during Xbox Tokyo Game Show.Unlike most presentation announcements, here we are not talking about a future release, but about an already available storyline.
