The developer has confirmed Russian, German and Brazilian Portuguese

On record Open Beta — Localization! dated October 8, the author explained that he had prepared a new internal text system. It is this that will allow the voluminous RPG to be translated into other languages. The plans officially named German, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese, and the list could potentially expand.

The developer separately warned that the translation would take a lot of time: the game contains a large amount of text.Neither the release date of the Russian version nor the exact conditions for its testing have been announced yet.

In the open beta 1.3, only English and Chinese are available for now

Now participants in the open testing of update 1.3 can try out the new technical basis for localization. But in this assembly there is only English and test Chinese; There is no Russian language there yet.The author himself calls the beta crude and warns about possible errors.

Therefore, it doesn’t make sense to install a trial branch just for the sake of the Russian text.It is better to wait for a separate announcement with the date and number of the completed update.

Why translation of this RPG is really important

Esoteric Ebb is a single-player isometric adventure inspired by tabletop role-playing games and the freedom of choice of Disco Elysium. The main character is a cleric investigating a political conspiracy, and a goblin partner travels next to him.The outcome of encounters often depends on dialogue, stats, and dice rolls.

For such a game, localization touches the very essence of the gameplay: without understanding the text, it is easy to miss decision options and consequences of actions. However, the promise of translation still remains the developer's plan, not a ready-made patch.

Details are in official Esoteric Ebb news on Steam.
