The difference was 8148 players - but this is not a record for the entire Steam

Previous Team Fortress 2 maximum recorded July 13, 2023.The new Deadlock figure exceeded it by 8148 players. This is a comparison of the records of two Valve games, and not a statement about the most popular game on the platform: leaders like Counter-Strike 2 gather a noticeably larger audience.

We are also talking about the peak concurrent audience on PC on Steam, and not about the number of copies sold or unique users per day.The values can be checked at SteamDB for Deadlock and SteamDB for Team Fortress 2.

The record was due to the update and the release of a new hero

Interest in the game has grown amid the update City Never Sleeps and adding new characters.PC Gamer attributes the new surge to the arrival of another hero that players chose during the ongoing series of in-game votes.

We already wrote about the previous record, when the peak value reached 228 thousand. Now the figure has become higher, but it is important not to confuse the two dates and not pass off the previous record as the current one.

The game is still in testing

Despite hundreds of thousands of concurrent players, Deadlock did not officially receive a final full release.Valve continues to change characters, balance and maps, so the composition and features of the game may change significantly.

You can follow the online dynamics at SteamDB.Information about access and development status is in official Deadlock card.
