Behavior Interactive has commented on the decision to remove Chucky from Dead by Daylight stores. In a statement to IGN, the studio explained that the goal is always to keep licenses forever, but not everything is up to it.The departed heroes remain an “open invitation” to return.

Licenses cannot always be retained

Fans were upset that Chucky was the third horror icon to leave the game, following Pinhead and Michael Myers.Behavior explained that it does everything possible to renew licenses, but sometimes, as the statement said, “despite all efforts” an agreement cannot be reached. Therefore, players must be prepared that the composition may change over time.

Purchases will remain with the owners

It will no longer be possible to purchase the Chucky pack starting November 24, 2026.Those who manage to purchase the killer doll and cosmetics for it will keep them: they will be able to use what they purchased even after this date. Therefore, Chucky may appear less often in matches, but he will not completely disappear from the game.We wrote more about the date itself separately.

The invitation remains valid

The studio assured that Dead by Daylight will always be a "house of horrors."Heroes of the Child's Play, Halloween and Hellraiser franchises remain with the same opportunity to enter the Mist as any newcomers if their licenses can be renewed or returned.
