FromSoftware has disabled online functionality in Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3. Invasions, co-op, and messages from other players are not available on all platforms, and the studio only cited the reason as a “server issue.”She announced this on October 30 on the social network X.
It is unknown how long the shutdown will last. The studio promises to talk about the timing of server restoration when it receives more information.Single player play is still possible, of course, but without alien ghosts, messages, and intrusions, games lose a significant amount of their character.

A similar case has already happened. At the beginning of 2022, on the eve of the release of Elden Ring, a critical remote code execution vulnerability was found in the games in the series. Then the PC servers were turned off for several months. But now there are differences: only the second and third parts are affected, but the problem affects all platforms, not just PCs.This gives hope that the problem is less serious and can be resolved faster.
PC players are luckier than others: the Seamless Co-op mod from the famous modder Yui runs on its own servers, separate from the official ones. For Dark Souls 3 it has been available for a long time, but for Dark Souls 2 it was released only at the end of September. The mod allows you to play games with friends with shared progress, without disconnecting after death or defeating a boss.If you love fashion, check out our other news: Cyberpunk 2077 breaks mod.io record.

On Russian Steam, both games now cost 2,399 ₽: Dark Souls 3 and Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin.
