Argonaut Games has completed development of the remaster of Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos and has set a release for October 29.The game will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and GOG.
The return of the 1999 platformer
The original Croc 2 continued the story of the green crocodile in 1999.This time the hero went to the mainland to look for his missing parents, and with them he again encountered Baron Dante and his minions. The game has four villages and more than 40 levels, between which platform challenges, trolley rides, car and boat races and flights are distributed.

The remaster has already gone gold
The developers' wording is clear: production has been completed, so the October date no longer looks like a preliminary guideline.Improved graphics and a set of usability changes are announced for the remaster. At the same time, Argonaut does not turn Croc 2 into a new game and retains the basis of the classic 3D platformer.
The sequel noticeably expanded the set of mechanics of the first part.Croc learned to triple jump, and regular platforming sections alternated with vehicles and mini-games.It is this structure that the team is transferring to modern systems.
Release on two generations of PlayStation at once
The list of platforms is unusually wide for a remaster of a small classic game: in addition to the modern PS5 and Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 remains on it, and Switch is announced on the Nintendo side. The PC version will appear simultaneously on Steam and GOG.
Argonaut has not yet announced the Russian price, so we will not provide conversions from other regions.Closer to October 29, we will separately check the regional availability of the PC version and the actual price on Russian Steam.
The return of Croc 2 continues Argonaut's line of rebuilding its own catalog. For fans of the original, the most important thing now is not the date, but the quality of the control and camera updates: it is these elements of the old 3D platformers that are most strongly felt after a quarter of a century.
