Gearbox Software has released update 1.11 for the looter shooter Borderlands 4 and, along with it, quietly removed Denuvo protection from the game.Players noticed this quickly, and the first performance measurements immediately appeared online.

According to community members, in some cases the increase reaches tens of frames per second.Modder EpicNNG reported that at medium settings in 1440p resolution the game now produces from 70 to 80 FPS where previously it was about 50. The author of the PlayWithEsh channel tested Borderlands 4 on a PC with an RTX 3050 Ti video card with 4 GB of memory: at low settings it turned out from 40 to 60 FPS, although sometimes there were drops.

However, it may not be just Denuvo. In the description of patch 1.11, the developers noted improvements in performance and stability, but did not provide details. The update also includes bug fixes related to game mechanics, sound, and animations. The problem with frame rate drops, judging by the reviews, has not gone away.
