Embark has already decided to install Expeditions in ARC Raiders on pause after the fifth cycle. Now it turns out that the developers are considering not only a rework: executive producer Alexander Grøndahl allows for a complete abandonment of the system.

There is no final solution. The team is discussing options, and the Expeditions are not scheduled to return until early 2027 anyway.

Why the system did not suit the players

Expeditions work somewhat like prestige: the player builds a caravan, invests resources, and then voluntarily resets levels, skills, and equipment for permanent bonuses for the next character.

Embark acknowledges three main problems: too-narrow entry windows, an inconsistent effort-to-reward ratio, and a high threshold for newbies.According to the studio, this cannot be corrected with small patches.

Progress from past expeditions will not be lost

Consecutive bonuses received will remain for the duration of the pause.Players who complete all five Expeditions will unlock the full Zenith Bundle.Unfinished caravans after the system is stopped are compensated with Ermal vouchers.

For now, the official plan still calls for Expeditions to return with major changes in early 2027.But now there's an important option to that plan: Embark might decide that ARC Raiders is better without such a system at all.
