With less than three weeks left until the release of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, Bandai Namco has revealed another piece of the campaign.Along with a new story video, the developers confirmed the return Annihilation Battle — a mode that can be roughly translated as “Battle of Destruction.”

It gives the player a larger area of operation and more freedom in choosing targets.In one of the missions, you can decide for yourself which objects to destroy first, and if necessary, return for ammunition.

The six-kilometer base is located directly in the sea

One of the key targets is called Megafloat.This is a six-kilometer-long naval structure with a two-kilometer runway, a power plant, factories and its own air defense system.

The destruction of individual objects can affect neighboring ones.For example, an oil tank explosion will damage buildings nearby, so the order of attack becomes part of the tactics.

Tonitrus Spear is a satellite kinetic weapon at an altitude of about 500 kilometers.It drops heavy metal rods using speed and mass instead of a nuclear charge.

The plot will pit the crew of The Endurance against the aces of Sotoa and several similar superweapons.Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve releases on PlayStation 5 on October 2.
